Covid-19 Private Fit to Fly Testing in Manchester

About Private Fit to Fly Testing

To prevent the spread of Coronavirus, many countries now require tourists to prove that they do not have the virus when travelling. Your Private Health’s Fit to Fly test service is done by taking a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) swab test to detect the presence of COVID-19. The sample will be taken from the deep throat and nose, like with regular COVID-19 testing.

Your Private Health have performed in excess of 1000 Fit to Fly tests from our Manchester clinic since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. 100% of our clients that tested negative for COVID-19 have all arrived at their destination safely, after receiving their Fit to Fly certificates which are approved by all countries.

About our Fit to Fly Tests in Manchester

  • What is a COVID-19 PCR Test?

A COVID-19 PCR Test (polymerase chain reaction) is used to check if you have COVID-19, even if you don’t have symptoms. This is the same test carried out by the NHS and COVID-19 testing centres.

A COVID PCR Test is done by inserting a swab into the nose and the back of the throat to collect respiratory materials. The swab will then be sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis.

  • Why do I need Fit to Fly Testing?

A COVID-19 Fit to Fly test certificate is required by some countries before you travel to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. You will not be allowed to travel if you test positive, and some countries may require you to isolate on arrival, regardless of a negative Fit to Fly test result.

  • What Will Happen at the Appointment?

Please bring your passport to your Fit to Fly Test appointment. This is required to check your identity and ensure that the information you previously provided is accurate as it will appear on your Fit to Fly certificate. We have strict COVID-19 measures in place to keep both our clients and colleagues safe, therefore we request that you wear a face mask or face covering to attend your Fit to Fly Test appointment, and try not to arrive early.

At the appointment your PCR COVID swab test will be collected by a trained healthcare professional. The test involves inserting swabs into the back of the throat and one nostril. You will be made to feel comfortable ensuring a stress free experience.

We will then send your sample to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis, and you can expect to receive your certificate within the turnaround time of the booked test.

  • When do I need to book a Fit to Fly test?

You will need to check with your airline before booking your Fit to Fly test as some destinations have specific requirements on when a Fit to Fly test should be taken prior to travelling. This can vary from 120 to 48 hours before travelling. We advise you check the entry requirements for the country you are travelling to on https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice before booking your test.

  • How do I get my results?

Once you have deposited your sample, it will be sent to an accredited UKAS laboratory for analysis. You can expect to receive your results within approximately 48 hours via email, or within 24 hours if you choose an express service. Your Fit to Fly certificate will be included in the email for you to print at home.

If your PCR test returns positive, you’ll be offered a free GP consultation enabling you to ask any questions and address any concerns you may have. However, please note that Your Private Health will not be liable for any losses, costs, or damages you may incur as a result of a positive, inconclusive or late test result.

Our team is always available if you have any questions or concerns about testing or your results.

Please note that it is a legal requirement of Your Private Health as a provider of COVID-19 testing to share all test results with Public Health England.

  • When will I get my Fit to Fly Test results and certificate?

Depending on whether you chose the express or ultrafast private PCR Fit to Fly test, you will receive your results and certificate from the same day to 1 day following your test.

  • Is the Fit to Fly service government approved?

Your Private Health is a government approved COVID-19 test provider and only uses government approved UKAS accredited labs to analyse our private Fit to Fly Tests. UKAS is recognised by the UK government, to assess against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

  • Is my deposit or test refundable if I cancel my appointment?

Should you need to cancel your test, we require a minimum of 48 hours notice from your booked appointment time to process a refund. A £25 deduction will be made as an administrative fee from all refunds.

  • What Happens if my Fit to Fly Test Comes Back Positive?

If your PCR test returns positive, you’ll be offered a free GP consultation enabling you to ask any questions and address any concerns you may have. However, please note that Your Private Health will not be liable for any losses, costs, or damages you may incur as a result of a positive, inconclusive or late test result.

Our team is always available if you have any questions or concerns about testing or your results.

Please note that it is a legal requirement of Your Private Health as a provider of COVID-19 testing to share all test results with Public Health England.
