Many careers require strict occupational medicals to be taken regularly in order to guarantee the health of the workforce and the public. Your Private Health offer a stress free service that will ensure that you or your employees can get the certification required with minimum effect on your business operations.

All of our medicals are performed according to the industry requirements to determine the suitability of the candidate for the proposed post. Medicals completed include drivers, healthcare workers, ex-army personnel, transport industry employees and cruise ship workers.

Private Pre-employment Medicals

Private pre-employment medicals may be required for a range of roles, both overseas and in the UK. These include medicals for healthcare staff, ex-army personnel, transport industry employees and cruise ship workers.

All of our medicals are performed according to the industry requirements to determine suitability for work. They can be valid for work both in the UK and abroad. Subject to satisfactory examination, Certificates of Fitness to Work will be issued.

Medical may require: –

Taxi Medical

To work as a taxi or private hire driver you must be medically fit which means meeting the DVLA Group 2 standards. We can provide the medical examination you require.

For this you must bring: –

  • Forms provided by your council for the taxi medical
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Glasses if you wear them with any recent opticians prescription
  • Prescriptions of medications you take.

Depending on your council we may need a medical summary provided by your NHS GP.

D4 Medical for HGV, Bus & Minibus Drivers

Your Private Health can offer complete D4 Medicals that are required for lorry, bus and minibus drivers or anyone requiring a Group 2 DVLA Licence.

For this examination, you’re required to bring the following to your appointment: –

  • D4 Medical Examination form
  • Photo ID
  • Glasses if you wear them and a recent optician’s prescription
  • Prescription of medications that you take.

Crane Operator Medical

There are a range of roles by which employers will require a medical to ensure fitness to operate machinery such as cranes. This is important for both the health of the employee and the safety of their colleagues and the general public.

Your Private Health can carry out this medical which will include a medical examination performed by our doctor, a vision assessment and urinalysis tests.

To complete the medical you’re required to bring the following: –

  • Photo ID
  • Glasses if worn
  • Prescription of any medications

These are required for those employed in safety critical tasks, roles in which you may require a medical of this kind include: –

  • Driver and Mechanical Handling Equipment Operator
    Forklift truck drivers
  • Plant Operator
  • Scaffolder/Rigger
  • Roadside (high speed)
  • Tunnelling worker
  • Slinger/Signaller/Banksman/Traffic Marshall
  • Confined Space

Safety-critical workers (SCW) should not be suffering from medical conditions or undergoing any medical treatment which could lead to a sudden loss of consciousness or incapacity, impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or coordination or significant limitation of mobility.

The medicals can include any of the assessments listed under the Pre-employment medicals section. The outcome of which is a Fitness for Work certificate issued to the employee and employer.
